Q&A WITH LEX!
To continue with our Q&A session, I picked out 10 questions for Lex to answer! I tried to do some that weren’t stereotypical without stealing any of her questions to me! She is a lot more creative than I am, that’s why I have her with me on this blog journey. I hope you all have been enjoying our little online interview, and continue to tune in to our weekly chats!
Here are my 10 interview questions for Lex to ponder and respond to:
Mad: What are you looking forward to most during our blog adventure?
Lex: I’m excited to see what kind of fun posts we choose to write about! Planning our content has been my favorite part so far because it’s been nothing but laughter and sipping iced coffee in a cute, local coffee shop.
M: Do you have any advice for our readers who might be in college?
L: Probably super cliche, but get involved on campus! Join a few clubs, attend events in the residential halls, try out intramurals, go to sporting events (once you’re able to). Take advantage of the time you have because, like everyone says, college goes by so fast. As for academics, utilize your professors’ office hours! They have that time set aside for you, so use it! Don’t be afraid to ask them for life advice in addition to any questions you may have about exams/essays/projects. Finally, if you’re really passionate about a specific topic being discussed in class, tell them! They could be working on a project revolving around that topic that you can be a part of!
M: What is your favorite season and why?
L: Spring. This is going to sound so weird, but I’m obsessed with how the transition from winter to spring smells, ya know what I mean? You literally walk outside to melting snow, blue skies, some warmth from the sun that has been hidden for about a month… I don’t know where I’m going with this…
M: When is your birthday?
L: October 29! My mom’s due date with me was Halloween and, if I had been born on that day, I would’ve been named Tabitha after the character on Bewitched!
M: What do you love most about your job?
L: Building relationships with the animals is what I love most about my job. Every animal has its own personality and the more time I spend with them, the more I get to learn about them. Animals have good days and bad days, just like people. This makes every day different because I never know what I’m getting into once I pull into the parking lot!
M: What is your greatest weakness and how do you try to conquer it?
L: I think my greatest weakness is overthinking. I often replay conversations in my head and question if I said the right thing or if I came off the wrong way, etc. In reality, what’s done is done and I can’t do anything about it. Not only that, but I can only control my thoughts, actions, and responses - no one else. That’s what I remind myself of when I catch myself asking a whole slew of what if’s.
M: If you could learn a new language, what would it be and why?
L: I googled which courses are available to learn on Duolingo for this question because that’s the app I’m currently using to brush up on my Spanish! I think that Hawaiian would be dope. Then, I could understand the lyrics to the intro song of Lilo and Stitch.
M: Tacos or pasta?
L: Why ya gotta do this to me?! Good gravy, I love both. But, uh, pasta. Final answer.
M: What is your favorite brand of clothing?
L: Old Navy. Especially when it comes to dresses. Otherwise, my closet is filled with a complete mish-mash of clothing brands because I love thrifting (which will definitely be a future blog post)!
M: What do you love about yourself? (I love everything about you!)
L: Oh goodness, you’re too sweet! I love my ability to make people laugh. Growing up, I was really insecure about making mistakes and having them pointed out by others only to be laughed at for it. My sixth-grade teacher and middle school Spanish teacher taught me that it’s okay to and I totally should laugh at myself every once in a while. Now, I pretty much do that on a daily hoping that I can get at least one other person to join in with me and help brighten their day.
