Mad's Goals for 2021!
So to finish off January, and to tie in New Year’s resolutions, I thought it would be a good idea for Lex and me to talk about goals! Now, not everyone likes goals, or thinking about them in-depth because it can cause pressure and anxiety to stop everything you're doing to complete them, or else you feel like a failure! THIS IS NOT THE CASE! Take your time, and make sure you know exactly what you want so you can have a straight-line focus! When I was talking with Lex, I turned into a cliche for a second and mentioned we could do a 1, 5, and 10-year goal. I put myself back into sophomore year health class doing goal worksheets, which I hated! But now, I am hoping that I can inspire you all to take a minute, reflect on your life and all the progress you've made, and how much farther you want to go! Without any further introduction...HERE ARE MY GOALS!!:
1-year goal: Permanently move to Green Bay!
I am attending college at UW-Green Bay and I love the area! I can see myself moving there permanently, and I would like to in the next year and a half. It would benefit me to move there because I won't have to pay as much for housing on campus, I will be able to choose if I want someone to live with me and who, I won't have to have my parents and sister help me move in and then move out every year as I would if I was on campus, and so much more! Also, I could have one job in Green Bay and not have to have two different jobs at different times with different schedules. Living on my own in Green Bay would also teach me the life lesson of saving, not spending. I will have to pay rent every month and have to learn to budget and stick to that budget once I've figured out what I have to spend for each category. 5-year goal: Graduate College!
I say again, I am attending college at UW-Green Bay. I want to graduate college in the next 5 years. I am going for a degree in Social Work. I should graduate in 3 and a half years, but life is crazy and things don't always work out the way you want it to. If I am still in school in five years, someone please hit me over the head and tell me to just get a job and move on haha. So there is a funny story about this photo! This is a picture from the local newspaper containing the graduating classes of schools in the area of 2019. I graduated from Pardeeville High School in 2019, and my grandma and grandpa Cook put this little message in there for me! I figured this would be appropriate for my future graduation.
10-year goal: Start My NonProfit!
I would like to start a Nonprofit called "Your Life, My life". I want it to be a Nonprofit that helps support mental health awareness and resources. I also want it to be an advocate for mental health and the people who need help who are not getting it. I have mental health problems so this is very close to my heart. I would like to give credit to my father who came up with the name! I tried to start this at my college in Baraboo but it didn't work out. I want this project of mine to be up and running in the next 10 years. I am very excited to start helping people and showing everyone that they are never alone! This picture is from my group sign-up table at UW-Baraboo. All of the best things start out small, so hopefully, I go from a poster board full of printed off paper to merchandise and advertisements at hospitals! Dream big, right?!
Thank you so much for joining Lex and me for another week! I hope you are enjoying our posts so far and if you have anything you would like to hear our opinions on or something you want us to make a post about, let us know in the comments! Have a good weekend and I will see you next week!
Mad out...
